On August 7, 2025, the Lebanese Microfinance Association (LMFA), chaired by former Minister Dr. Youssef El Khalil, organized a *Multi-Stakeholders’ Roundtable Dialogue* titled *”Strengthening Transparency and Innovation in the Microfinance Sector”* at the Mövenpick Hotel, Beirut. Held under the BINA’ Project funded by the European Union and managed by Transparency International Secretariat (TI-S) and Transparency International Lebanon (TI-LB), the event brought together national and international stakeholders, including representatives from the Central Bank of Lebanon, ministries, donors, investors, microfinance institutions (MFIs), digital wallet providers, fintech companies, and civil society. Discussions centered on advancing digital financial inclusion, improving the regulatory framework for microfinance, and strengthening partnerships to support entrepreneurs and underserved communities. The roundtable served as a platform to gather feedback on the policy paper developed by the LMFA and its legal expert, based on consultations with MFIs, policymakers, experts, and e-wallet service providers.
